A place to stay with extremely good coffee. The menu is clear, but has something for everyone including veggie and vegan options. Overall a little more expensive than other cafes in Leipzig, but it's worth it. It is advisable to reserve.

Wonderful little coffee / bistro, which is located in an old butcher shop. Great ambience, very friendly staff, changing lunch dishes, delicious cakes. No endless supply of baked-up things - if something is gone, it is no longer available :)

The food is delicious and the inside of the cafe looks great. Unfortunately, the location on the street is not very comfortable, the volume spoils the whole thing very much. But where do you want to sit down in times of Corona? Therefore only 1 star - because the condition inside the cafe was unfortunately not really acceptable. ONE waitress of four wore face masks, otherwise the cafe was full to the brim with guests who also wore no face masks. Anyone who knows how the aerosols behave would definitely not take a seat inside here. If you come here - sit outside.

Lovely alternative place, the coffee is amazing and the selection for breakfast is definitely no standard staff. All fresh and nice-looking a must-visit when in Leipzig! Make sure you reserve a table in advance as the Dankbar is very frequented.

Awesome coffee culture spot in Leipzig! From the hooks on the wall from its past as a butchery to the incredibly ornate ceiling, as you walk in you just know that this place will ne special. The owners/managers/baristi are super friendly and easily converse in English and always ready to help... and this translates to their staff too. Coffee is made and served the proper way and their wide selection of cakes and all things sweet is off the charts! Highly recommend!!!

Bad service.

Love this rare find in the city! Creative, good quality food I loved so much that I had to come back the day after for another round. Only downsides: Can be quite busy in peak times and you'll have to wait. Some tables in the back don't always get the full attention of the waiters and food gets there late - although the waiters are more than sweet should you get your order late.

If you are looking for a superb "caffè espresso" in Leipzig, go check out the "Dankbar" in Waldstraßenviertel. The "caffè al vetro" is the best I've had so far in all of Leipzig.

Great food, lovely staff... Well invested money! We had a reservation for the "fishy fingers", sea food from southern USA - memorable. The place is unbelievable cool (it used to be a butcher shop back in the day).

I am thankful for a wonderful place like Dankbar!
